Centre street bridge on Flickr.
Connecting Memorial Drive to the downtown core at Chinatown, this bridge goes over the Bow River in Calgary. Amazing to think that it was just weeks ago in June that the flood waters were almost touching the underside of the bridge.

A final sketch from Sunday. The rain clouds were threatening us by this time.

Some people chose to just sit and watch the world (on screen or off) in the square.

From Sunday at Place d’Armes square, there are many tourists taking pictures from every angle.
Place d’Armes on Flickr.
Sketching in the square at Place d’Armes on Sunday. This spot has been on my bucket list for a while, so I was happy that it was suggested for our Montreal urban sketching meet up this month. The monument is in memory of Paul de Chomedey, founder of Montreal. Also in the photo you might be able to spot another urban sketcher. Extra points if you can correctly identify that person.
I was also very happy the rain managed to hold off until later that afternoon!

Making constructive use of my time during a metro stoppage yesterday after work. At the entrance of Square Victoria station.
Mont-Royal on Flickr.
Back sketching on Mont-Royal last Sunday at the start of the heat wave (lack of inspiration finding a new site). I was here only two weeks ago with the Urban Sketching MTL group.
This view is my second attempt. I’m pretty happy with the result of the buildings, but the mass of green got the better of me. A bit of green overload.
